Astana hosted the 8th Kazakhstan Global Investment Roundtable (KGIR-2025) — one of the year’s key business events. The forum was attended by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov and once again reaffirmed the country’s growing role as a leading investment hub in Eurasia.
This year, KGIR-2025 was held under the theme “New Solutions in an Era of Transformation: Kazakhstan as a Center of Sustainable Economic Development.” More than 1,000 participants took part — including heads of global corporations, national companies, government agencies, and diplomatic missions — to discuss new areas of cooperation and prospects for further economic growth.
The program featured a series of panel sessions on Kazakhstan’s strategic development priorities. At the session devoted to the role of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC), participants explored ways to enhance the investment climate, introduce modern financial instruments, and strengthen the country’s competitiveness in the global market.A separate discussion focused on logistics and food security, addressing the expansion of international transport corridors, resilience of supply chains, and creation of new production clusters.Special attention was also given to the development of critical minerals and the energy transition — including low-carbon technologies, deeper processing of raw materials, and the diversification of export routes.
As a result of the forum, 49 commercial documents totaling more than $7.5 billion were signed. The agreements span a wide range of sectors — from agro-processing, industry, and energy to infrastructure and waste management.
KGIR-2025 reaffirmed its status as a unique platform for launching new initiatives, exchanging strategic ideas, and strengthening economic partnerships. Kazakhstan continues to demonstrate its readiness for large-scale transformation, offering investors stable conditions, transparent mechanisms of interaction, and long-term cooperation.
